Shaffer Buck Insurance has been a part of the Caldwell community and has been serving the people of the Treasure Valley for over a century. We are a 4th generation family owned business who values our local community and the Idaho families we have the pleasure to serve.
Aaron Buck
Aaron is the fourth generation to carry on the tradition at Shaffer Buck Insurance. He has worked part time for Shaffer Buck since the age of 16. After graduating from the College of Idaho in 2007 with a Bachelors in Business/International Political Economy and a Bachelors in General Music, Aaron went to work for Ada County as a supervisor in the County Clerk's office. In November of 2009 Aaron came on full time as an agent at Shaffer Buck Insurance and in June of 2022 Aaron purchased the agency from Dan and now runs the ins and outs.
Sincerity, integrity, and community service are important values to Aaron. Aaron is a past President of the Caldwell Rotary Club and is involved in other local charity efforts. Aaron was married to his wife Rachel in August of 2009, they originally settled in Nampa but have recently moved “to the country” West of Caldwell. He enjoys anything outdoors, whether it be hiking with Rachel and their golden retriever Ali and Yorkie affectionately referred to as “Rowdy”, white water rafting, hunting, or boating. Aaron enjoys physical challenges from bicycle racing to Ironman races to his current adventures in CrossFit.
Aaron is excited to take the reigns of Shaffer Buck from Dan and to carry on the long tradition of caring for his clients and community in the same fashion Charlie, Gordon, and Dan did before him.

Rachel Buck
Rachel was born in Florida and through the Air Force brat program ended up in Idaho in her early years. Rachel attended BSU after High School and returned in 2018 to earn a Bachelors in Psychology. Rachel had a long career in the legal field as an office manager, legal assistant, bookkeeper, and Paralegal. In 2021 Rachel decided to take her talents to Shaffer Buck. Rachel runs the front desk and keeps things on track as the Bookkeeper. As a newly licensed Agent she also assists customers with coverage issues and questions. Rachel has enjoyed getting to know the Shaffer Buck clients, both long time and new.
In her spare time Rachel enjoys boating, rafting, short hikes, and snuggled with her Yorkie, Lexi. Although she is no longer working in the legal arena, she still keeps on a sharp eye on current cases and legal issues.
Dan Buck
Dan is an Idaho native and was the third generation of his family to be at the helm of Shaffer Buck Insurance. Over the past 35 years he has been affiliated with several industry associations and continues to be a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. Through the years Dan has enjoyed serving his many clients, developing friendships, handling claims situations, and designing customized insurance plans to meet their changing needs.
Active in the community, he is a past President of the Caldwell Kiwanis Club, Chairman of the Board of the Lifeline Pregnancy Care Center and active in his church.
Dan and his wife, Tammy, have enjoyed raising their four children and have been blessed with eight grandchildren, all of whom live in the Caldwell-Nampa area. He enjoys landscape gardening, motorcycling, restoring his '57 Olds 98, and tending his Lowline Angus cows. Dan is now partially retired but still comes into the office a time or two each week. Dan is handling life and health insurance along with Medicare Supplement insurance, you can still contact the office to get ahold of him, so give us a call.
